Complete List Of Leading Players In The 3D Audio Market

1. Hooke Audio

Not only has Hooke Audio invented the World’s first Bluetooth microphone, they’ve invented the world’s first Bluetooth 3D Audio microphone. Catered towards a consumer audience, their flagship product Hooke Verse is a pair of wireless headphones with specially placed 3D audio mics in each earbud. Using a proprietary codec, the Hooke Verse is able to stream dual channel 16bit 48kHz .wav files over Bluetooth to Android and iOS devices with .0043ms. If you want to record 3D Audio to products without Bluetooth using the Hooke Verse, you can use the included recording cable. 4. Dolby Labs

Incredibly similar to Auro, Dolby Labs makes an algorithm called Dolby Atmos which can be licensed and integrated into devices like sound bars, TVs, Tablets, phones and home theatre receivers. When the piece of hardware incorporates this algorithm, the device can then play immersive audio according to Dolby. Remember how in the mid 2000s when your home theatre receiver would have that little Dolby sticker on it for 5.1? This is no different, the exact same play, this time with more immersive characteristics and available on phones. Think 5.1 on crack and on mobile.

5. DTS

Identical to Dolby Atmos, DTX makes an algorithm called DTS X which is designed to be licensed my hardware manufacturers. McDonalds has to have a Burger King, Coca-Cola has to have a Pepsi and in this case, Dolby has a DTS. Competition is good, especially when you’re making the exact same product.

6. Comhear Inc.

Designed for in home use, Comhear Inc. makes sound bars that are said to play immersive audio. Binaural audio for years has been limited to headphones for listening, but with Comhear Inc.’s new systems, you can experience binaural audio from a soundbar right below your television.

It essentially replaces speakers and headphones. The sound bar and included subwoofer replace traditional home theater setups with 5 or 7 speakers. The system delivers a “model” of the surround experience you get from multiple speakers by beaming the exact audio your left and right ears would hear in a real multichannel room. It’s really that simple when you realize that everything we hear — including spatial location — is done with just our two ears. You have to hear it for yourself but it really works.

7. Dysonics

Dysonics provides an all-in-one spatial audio workstation for VR & 360 media. Dysonics Rondo360 platform integrates seamlessly with all DAWs and workflows, supports mixing for all audio configurations, and has advanced export functionality for distribution across all major platforms and applications.
