About Bose 251 Speaker
Bose 251 outdoor speakers are compact and easy to set up. The bose 251 environmental speakers are very easy to install in any outdoor space near the pool, driveway, or garden.
This speaker is made with a water-resistant composite housing that can withstand extreme temperatures, from extreme heat to extreme cold.
These Bose outdoor speakers have a 5.25-inch woofer built-in. This allows you to enjoy the bass-rich sound without distortion. The Bose 251 is an articulated array speaker to be used indoors and outdoors with greater clarity and power.
Design and Sound
Each 251 Environmental speaker has a five 1/4-inch low-frequency driver and two 1/2-inch Bose Twiddler(TM). Bose’s latest outdoor and indoor speaker, the Twiddler, is a high/mid driver.
The Twiddlers can be mounted 45 degrees to the left and right of their center in what Bose refers to as an Articulated Array. The 251 Environmental has a broader distribution for outdoor use thanks to the Articulated array. Therefore, the 251 Environmental’s “sweet spot” is more prominent, such as your backyard.
The Bose 251 Environmental speakers cover a wide area and sound amazing. These speakers have a remarkable bass response. It’s difficult to believe that these speakers can produce such deep and punchy bass from a five 1/4-inch driver.
The Twiddlers will also surprise you. These drivers are unique and do an excellent job with the high-frequency response and upper mid-range. Vocals are clear and present without being overwhelming at any stage.
The 251 Environmental sound profile is straightforward to understand, thanks to the highs. The 251 Environmental does not become harsh, distort or break down even at very high volumes. These speakers are reliable no matter the volume.
Power and Amplification
The 251 Environmental features have a power handling range of 10 to 100W at six ohms. However, the speakers can be powered by 4- or 8-ohm amplifiers. For more information, please consult the Bose user manual.
Pair your 251 Environmental speakers with an amplifier close to 100W to get the best performance. It would be wasteful to connect the 251 Environmental to a receiver less than 80W.
The 251 Environmental was created to work with the Bose SoundTouch SA-5 amplifier.
The SoundTouch SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier is part of the Bose SoundTouch range, including amplifiers and speakers of all sizes. You can create multi-room entertainment systems using Bose products connected to your WiFi network.
SoundTouch SA-5 inputs come with 2 x RCA and 1/8-inch AUX. They also support Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi, and Ethernet connectivity.
The SA-5 can also be used with Alexa. You can also purchase a Bose package that includes speaker wire and the 251 Environmental powered by the SA-5.
The bose 251 environmental speakers are designed to be outdoors and live in harsh environments. The speakers can operate in temperatures ranging from -22°F to 140°F, which is typical for most areas of the US.
The 251 Environmental speakers are also resistant to snow, rain, and salt fog. Despite all of this protection, I recommend that you place the 251 Environmental on a covered patio or roof where they are not directly exposed.
It Is Easy to Set Up Outdoors or Indoors.
The brackets and screws come with the pair, so you don’t have to purchase hardware. You can also assemble it indoors, in your bedroom, bedroom, office, or home theater.
It can be placed outdoors, where it shines most. It can be placed near the pool or on your patio, balcony, or garden.
The bracket for this outdoor speaker allows you to mount it vertically or horizontally, depending on your preference. You get all the hardware that you need and can use it right away from the box.
Quality and Durability
Bose 251 Outdoor Speakers’ speaker cabinet is made of glass-filled polypropylene with minerals, which provides extra protection against extreme cold and heat.
Bose’s outdoor speaker has Articulated Array(r), which produces a consistent and sizeable sound field.
Apart from their array speaker design, the Bose 251 Outdoor Speakers also have 5.25″ woofers with polymer fiber composite cones, and butyl rubber surrounds. This ensures high-quality sound.
A 5-year limited warranty covers Bose 251 environmental outdoor speakers
These Bose outdoor speakers offer a risk-free 90-day trial to help you buy these stereo components.
Bose speakers can be overpriced in some instances. However, the 251’s are an excellent deal considering the power and quality they offer. The Bose 251’s, if you are willing to spend a bit more for a robust outdoor sound system, is a great choice.
Bose 251 Outdoor Speaker Reviews: Who is it For?

Bose speakers are constantly looking for futuristic products. Bose 151SE Environmental speakers are no less than that.
The speakers are designed with a curving arc shape, which is pointed outwards. We found that Bose speakers had more surface area when tested with other speakers in the same category. This directly contributed to the speakers’ sound quality.
Its clever design enabled it to produce more sound than other speakers with flat surfaces. Bose 151SE outdoor speakers also had a curved design that allowed them to project sound further.
- Each speaker:10.6 cm H x 28 cm W x 12.7 cm D (1.5 kg)
- Pair in carton:15.24 cm H x 62.23 cm W x 19.69 cm D (3.4 kg)
Bose 161 speakers are versatile and can be used for bookshelf or wall-mount applications.
These bookshelf speakers perform as well as prominent stereo speakers at home that are more expensive than Bose. Each speaker has a clear, crisp sound and plenty of basses.
The speaker also features an ArticulatedArray(r) speaker design, which uses precise positioning of drivers within the speaker. This patented technology provides a consistent sound field and high volume when the speaker turns on. The enclosure’s Articulated Array(r), however, generates more air movement.
Stereo Everywhere(r) is another Bose technology found in the Bose 161 speaker systems. This feature allows Bose speakers to produce excellent stereo sound throughout the room, not just in the “sweet spot.”
Audiophiles and recording engineers use the term sweet spots to describe the central point of two speakers. This is the location that allows one to hear stereo audio as the mixer intended.
Bose didn’t provide details about the frequency response of these speakers, but we can tell that they are good surround speakers. The magnetic shielding allows it to be placed near the TV while still sounding good.
- Power: 10-450W
- Dimensions: 12.75 x 21.13x 12.75 inches
- Weight: 35lbs
- Equalization: Yes
- Guarantee: For life
The speakers worked perfectly (we used walnut cabinets with pedestal bases for our test).
Construction: The 35-pound speakers, weighing 35 pounds each, are mounted to their metal pedestals with wood screws using black metal pedestals.
The bottom of the cabinets has pre-drilled holes for screw connections. However, this is unlikely to be used more than a few times before the speaker’s base gets damaged. Bose chose not to include threaded inserts in the 901’s bottom, especially considering the price.
You can use any speaker wire to connect the 901s. However, the cables run through metal pedestals, so it is difficult to change the wire.
Also, some stereo wires, such as Nordost Odin speakers cables, are too thick to fit with the narrow stock pedestals. This is important to remember when choosing speaker cables for the 901s and attaching the pedestals to the bottom of speaker cabinets.
Drivers: The 901 has nine full-range drivers per cabinet. Bose chose to use an inline equalizer to allow these speakers to work together. Modern speakers rely on DSP to control the drivers. However, Bose achieved a similar effect with a simpler (and more expensive) passive EQ control unit.
Custom Controls: It is important to note that the inline EQ must always be connected to a tape-monitor circuit if a receiver is being used. If they are not separate, the EQ can be placed directly between amp and preamp units.
Bose provides a pair of 3′ RCA patch cables that can be used to install the inline EQ. There are two sound profiles in the EQ: one is flat, and the other boosts bass, similar to older receivers’ loudness buttons.
- Each speaker:24.8 cm H x 36.2 cm W x 24.8 cm D (5.7 kg)
- Pair in carton:45.5cm H x 61.3cm W x 33.6cm D (13kg)
- Stereo receivers can be connected to component speakers
- Stereo Targeting(r), 5 cm, and one rear-firing (5 cm) tweeters combine to create balanced stereo sound across a large area.
- 20 cm long-excursion woofer delivers powerful, clean low notes
Bose 301’s outstanding sound quality and performance are two of the most important things we want to highlight in this review. The unique horizontal design is a standout feature.
This is not an accident. It’s also not to be confused with the boring methods we are used to seeing. It serves a purpose, and the 301 can fit on any bookshelf without height.
They also have a spatial dispersion speaker lens. This ensures that you get a smooth spatial response and good frequency. This lens ensures that the sound is evenly distributed throughout all rooms. The sound is evenly distributed throughout the room. The 301 can produce perfect tones regardless of your position.
The 301’s design is also very modern. It adds a touch of sophistication to your space with its minimally rounded corners and matte touches. You can have a luxurious home with a bookcase speaker that looks great without spending a lot.
We won’t forget about the sound quality. Bose 301 gives you the feeling that you are in the same room as the artist. The sound is clear and clean with no distortion. This is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful bookshelf speakers that we have seen at this price.
