Build & Design

LSTN Troubadour Bluetooth Headphones Build & Design

Lstn troubadour headphones are a unisex headset that is available in purple or black. It has a closed design and a well-ventilated and padded headband and ear cups for comfortable to wear.

At first glance. It is lightweight and foldable with a carrying case that provides portability. The ability to hear and enjoy music.

The unusual triangular shape of the ear cups extends to the earpads. The cup’s entire back is made from Zebra wood, while the rest is made of metal. Metal and wood look great together and give the headphones a look that’s both classic and modern.

While photos might lead you to think that the Troubadours are heavy, they’re surprisingly light. With the earpads in place, the headphones weigh 10.8 ounces (307 grams) which is more severe than their 2.1 pounds (900g) MSRP but still lighter than most similarly-priced portable cans or closed-back designs.

The thin metal headband may have you concerned about its comfort, but the leather pad is wide and thick enough to provide good stability. These headbands are popular because they’re solid, soft, and comfortable, ideal for long listening sessions.

Not only are the company’s headphones made using reclaimed wood from sustainable sources, but for every purchase, some of the proceeds go to the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to people in need.

The bottom of this headset features three-button power. They also double as volume and call buttons. It is easy to use, thanks to the discreet placement of the controls.

However, the usability leaves something to be desired. You can press few seconds the Power button. The headphones can be turned on and off for a short time. However, the controls aren’t very tactile.

Comfort & Fit

The Troubadour headphones feel like they’d fit my small ears perfectly. They’re snug and secure but not overly tight. The pads form to the shape of your head without bunching up or causing pressure points on your skull.

There’s a low clamp pressure which is ideal for most people.

The earpads are made of soft leather, and they contour to the shape of your head without a lot of bulk. This is great for comfort and listening to music in public places without looking like you’re in a bubble.

Connectivity

Connectivity

Connectivity is provided in the simple form of one removable cable with an included mic and remote. The Troubadour headphones feature both an on-cable microphone and small, as well as a removable cable.

This is great for travelers who like to take their gear with them when on the road, but there’s one minor catch: The cable included with these headphones does not feature an inline mic; while this isn’t a deal-breaker, it would be nice if they did.

Although the cable can be removed and replaced, it will be more challenging to find a replacement cable if the split TS3.5mm jacks are on the headset end than if the headphones had a standard TRS connector on the left earcup.

Sound Quality

These can be used with any mobile phone, so it is worth noting that they should work on all phones. These sounded great on both the iPhone 5s (or Nexus 5) and were very clear with a dedicated amp.

Lows

Although the bass is loud and powerful, it’s not very accurate in low-end detail. Public Enemy’s “Rebel Without A Pause,” which featured bass and drums, was well-represented. However, the bass notes that were quickly played in other songs weren’t as clearly articulated.

Mids

Red Fang’s “Hank Is Dead” was a great listen. The higher mids gave the drums a lot of energy, while the lower mids added mud to the guitars. Sound good, it is clear that the headphones are not intended for critical listening.

Highs

Highs are generally represented well. The hi-hat on the “Rebel Without A Pause” in some sections can be irritating. However, the hats/cymbals of Refused’s Summer holidays Vs. Punkroutine never ventured into the realms of harshness.

The soundstage is good, but it sounds better when you listen through over-ear headphones (I used the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40’s built-in headset amplifier) than via a mobile device. My ears failed to adjust volume well with the Troubadours, so I couldn’t push the book up enough to cause the sound breakup.

The headphones are good at isolating noise. Even at a lower volume, conversations in the vicinity were barely audible when music was playing. Sound leakage is around the medium. Although it’s not at open-back levels, you can turn the music up loud enough to hear your neighbors.

The LSTN troubadours are better suited towards vocal-oriented (excluding hip hop) songs, even songs that are – ugh – auto-tuned. If the Troubadours headphones were a bit less expensive, I would rate them higher.

Noise-canceling

Noise-canceling

It is about medium. Although the noise cancelling is not at the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro level, you can crank up the volume enough to drown out sounds around you.

Qualitative Calls

The call quality is excellent. Bluetooth can produce a slightly different sound to the caller than the wired mode. However, this is normal for Bluetooth headphones that have side mic functionality.

Batteries

Strangely, Lstn headphones didn’t mention the capacity. However, you can expect to get about 8 hours of listening at a 60% volume. It would take approximately two hours to recharge fully.

Customer Feedbacks lstn

Customer Feedbacks

“First time I have had headphones that don’t leak sound. I hate the sound signature of my old headphones being exposed to others, especially on planes, audio performance is not clear. These are awesome and work perfectly”

“They are perfect, perfect for watching movies on TV, but you can’t use them for phone calls. I’m really like vegan leather ear pads, it is very comfortable. Nice headphones”

“Wow. I’m impressed. My last headset – the Jaybird X2 – had an awful bass response, and I never could hear any voices clearly, no matter how loud I turned up the volume.

The Sony S-Master HX Digital amplifier ensures that voices are clear, even when the volume is turned up to full. Battery life is similar to the Apple AirPods, which is to say it’s not great. On the other hand, you’ll get a solid five hours of playback time between charges. I’m pleased with these over-ear headphones.”

“I don’t usually write reviews, but I have to with this product. It is so great. I use it for my Netflix and YouTube viewing.

The price is right, and they are easy to set up and sync with my laptop. If you like warm sound and good bass (bass response), these are the ones. I got them on sale, so I don’t feel too guilty for not returning them after listening to them. But, the next time I get a good deal, I’ll consider buying other cans or two.”

Bottom Line

Those looking for a pair of well-built on-ear wireless headphones should check out the LSTN wireless Troubadours. It provides a very balanced and musical sound and is also comfortable. We hope that our review can help you learn more about this device.
